Scope of Role:
Support the business to ensure capability and alignment of the quality management system in line with regulatory standards, customer expectations and relevant internal processes and procedures, striving to continuously improve the product quality through robust root cause analysis whilst at the same time, contributing towards a reduction in the cost of poor quality.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Produce and submit First Article Reports to customers and validate incoming supplier reports
- Monitor and escalate, where necessary, internal product quality issues
- Lead cross functional problem solving teams in line with the Ametek Airtechnology standard processes to ensure effective and robust corrective action is implemented
- Support the implementation and maintenance of quality metrics
- Responsible for release of Product in accordance with EASA Form 1 Requirements (CAA Part 21 and 145), FAR 145 and Certificate of Conformity of all products from the business site, including delegating responsibility during absences (following a period of training)
- Achieve and maintain delegated quality responsibility from Customers and where necessary delegate to other competent individuals.
- Lead and host audits carried out by customers and third parties
- Carry out internal audits in accordance with Company programme.
- Deputising for the Quality Manager
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions
- Take part in Internal audits and action any issues raised for areas of responsibility
- Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.
- Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
- At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.
- On occasion you may be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
- A proven track record of working in a Quality Engineering role within a dynamic operations environment
- Understanding of regulatory requirements appertaining the supply of product for the Aerospace and Defence industries
- Familiar with the AS 9100 and FAA standards/regulations
- Significant Microsoft office skills, including creation of Excel spreadsheets
- Good command of the English language and very articulate
- Good presentation and communication skills to groups of around 10 people and to senior management
