Scope of Role:

 

Mechanical Assembler responsible for building fans and heaters in accordance with drawings and standard operating procedures (SOPs) where available. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards and are assembled efficiently.

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities

 

  • Assemble fans / heaters following detailed drawings and SOPs.
  • Operate hand tools and machinery required for assembly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Perform quality checks and testing on assembled products.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve assembly processes.
  • Keep accurate records of production and any issues encountered.
  • Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • Participate in any Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affects the quality or output of the product.
  • Where PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided, you will be required to use it.
  • Carry out all activities as defined above in a timely manner to ensure the company manufacturing targets are achieved.
  • You will be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to, training colleagues in line with local skills matrix, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.

 

 

Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions

 

  • Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
  • At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

 

  • Previous experience in assembly or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ideally, time-served with a completed apprenticeship or significant experience in a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
  • Able to read, write and understand English.
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of assembly small tooling.
  • Soldering skills on small components
  • Experience in assembling small components, i.e. model kits or other small component assembly
