Job Description: 

AMETEK STC, a business unit of AMETEK, Inc. needs a full-time Senior Software Engineer to continue building our software team. We work hard to keep you focused on creating software by using tools like GitHub, TeamCity, TestRail, and Octopus Deploy. Using .NET and C++ we develop quality software delivered as quickly as possible. Your goal and our goal is to continually improve our software and how we deliver that software.

As a senior member of the software engineering team, you will be mentoring less experienced colleagues by providing guidance on how designs should be implemented and choices in new technologies.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating and maintaining AMETEK STC TEST and Crystal customer applications
  • Maintaining applications and services used to manage and monitor our TEST manufacturing system
  • Developing strong serial communication code and libraries for RS232 and TCP to interface between our products and our software
  • Providing new technology guidance to keep our systems relevant and able to leverage new automation techniques
  • Designing robust software and system architectures that are easy to test and use clear patterns and practices.
  • Mentoring less experienced software engineering colleagues

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
  • Eight or more years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience with designing software architectures on large systems
  • Understanding of system orchestration and how to deploy dependent versions across multiple systems in one release
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs

  • You must be able to discuss both your work and solutions to encountered problems in a team environment.
