Job Description: 

The GAAP Accountant will provide timely delivery of periodic GAAP related activities, tax reporting and account reconciliations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with Swiss Code of Obligations, German GAAP, and US GAAP (annual basis).
  • Support statutory, internal, and tax audits.
  • Prepare statistical returns for Germany, Switzerland, UK, and US entities.
  • Manage direct and indirect tax preparation.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and plausibility checks.
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Oversee fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, and general ledger activities.
  • FX revaluations
  • Intercompany cost centre recharges;
  • Manage ICO reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with SOX procedures, maintaining documentation and evidence for key controls.
  • Optimise internal processes and undertake additional duties as assign.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting theory
  • 5+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
  • Excellent English skills, German is a plus
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act and operate independently
  • High Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ERP experience would be an asset
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results

 

Education and Experience:

  • BA degree in Accounting/Business; plus, three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
