Job Description:
The Production Manager is responsible for operational management of our Serbian facility with primary focus on achieving operational goals for revenue, product cost, quality, inventory levels and schedule attainment. In the role, you must ensure all factory team members adhere to all Ametek policies and procedures including, but not limited to, ISO and Human Resources. Additionally, you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of related functional areas including Planning, purchasing, and Stores.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation and evolution of safety protocols
- Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Manage the operations process and influence all relevant support functions to achieve customer fulfillment expectations.
- Responsible for achievement of KPI’s related to shipping volume targets, on-time delivery, past due backlog, customer lead time, efficiency, overtime premium expense, PPV and net inventory.
- Generate current month and future months head count / capacity requirements plan.
- Rectify product cost variances to target.
- Drive resolution to material availability issues.
- Inventory handling/management and accuracy within the facility.
- Timely and thorough execution (within the scope of the plant) of Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
- Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices.
- Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
- Ensure coaching and development of resources to meet business’s objectives.
- Supervising and motivating a team of workers.
- Reviewing the performance of direct reports.
- Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations.
- Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.
- Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
- Ensure prescribed preventive maintenance are completed thoroughly and timely.
- Implement and ensure adherence to 6S processes.
- Implement Lean manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:
- Management skills
- Experience of operating in a corporate environment
- Comfortable with matrix management
- Proven track record in managing production lines and supply chain
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify, and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
- Ability to create and manage production budgets
- Knowledge of supply chain including MRP and Master Scheduling skills
- Leadership skills
- Proven ability as a change agent
- Strong computer skills
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.
- 5-7 years experience in production at a management level.
- Experience of working in an international environment (US company is a plus)
