To strengthen our Purchasing department we are looking for a full-time dedicated  Lead Buyer (m,f,d) Strategic Purchasing:

 

What tasks await you?

 

  • Development and permanent adjustment of global purchasing and commodity group strategies and communication of these to the plants after coordination with the head of strat. Purchasing
  • Ensure a technically , commercially, capacitively and qualitatively competent supplier base in the assigned area of responsibility
  • Coordination of commodity group strategies in close cooperation with the local purchasing organizations
  • Supplier pre-selection and scouting, creation of suppliers in ERP (self-disclosure, evaluation, assessment of technical capabilities, NDA, supplier check-list)
  • Nomination / phasing out of suppliers in coordination with Head strat. Purchasing / Sourcing Committee
  • Preventive supplier risk management
  • Collaboration in cross-functional project teams across all locations
  • Execution of inquiries/ tenders/ offers and their evaluation under TCO aspects
  • Negotiation of quantities, prices, delivery dates and conditions, cost absorption, quotation, etc. for (framework) contracts in the area of responsibility (within the scope of the right to sign)
  • Conducting negotiations and awarding contracts according to scope of action or in coordination with Head of Strat. Purchasing
  • Participation in the negotiation of contracts with suppliers (NDA, framework agreements, logistics agreements, QSV) in cooperation with Supplier Development and Plant Purchasing
  • Overall global supplier responsibility for prices, quality and deliveries. If required, in coordination with the Head of strat. Purchasing
  • Technical coordination and clarification in close cooperation with TE/IE/TQ for new parts
  • Clarification of invoice differences for responsible material groups
  • Perform project buyer function in project teams
  • Recognize global supply risks (single sourcing, monopolies, market trends), develop and initiate remedial measures (coordinate beforehand if necessary)
  • Identify, present and implement cost improvement potentials (if necessary, coordinate beforehand)
  • Maintenance and updating of purchasing info records for all current articles in the area of responsibility on an annual basis (incl. maintenance future price)
  • Escalation level in case of delivery/quality problems according to current escalation matrix
  • Execution of annual price and condition agreements with suppliers
  • Supplier visits incl. documented action plan and visit report
  • Trade fair visits incl. documentation and action plan
  • Master data maintenance in ERP and communication of drawing changes or updating of purchase order text and forwarding of drawings to the plants, if relevant
  • Collaboration in defining the procurement strategy for production transfers between plants
  • Creation of sample orders according to the sampling categories for new products and for supplier changes (QAA check and advance coordination with Sales)
  • Participation in continuous improvement process teams
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers in the area of responsibility
  • Conduct and communicate supplier assessment (in coordination with Sourcing Committee)

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  • Completed studies in the technical or commercial field or commercial training with appropriate experience in purchasing
  • Knowledge in the procurement of electrotechnical or other technical products
  • Experience in project purchasing 
  • Good communication skills and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills combined with entrepreneurial vision
  • Fluent negotiation skills in German and English
  • Confident handling of MS-Office and an enterprise resource planning system (e.g. NAVISION) desirable
