Job Description: 

Position Summary: The Controlling Associate supports the CTS finance organization across a broad range of controlling activities, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis. This entry-level role is designed for individuals with strong academic credentials and 1-2 years of relevant experience. The position offers exposure to both commercial and operational finance topics and involves close collaboration with senior controllers and business stakeholders

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Month-End Closing Support

  • Assist in the execution of month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support reconciliation and analysis of inventory movements, inventory valuation, and variance explanations.
  • Contribute to the review and validation of commissions, rebates, and revenue recognition in line with ASC 606 standards.
  • Help prepare and validate journal entries and accruals related to sales, service, and operational finance, sales orders and backlog review.

Standard Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain standard financial reports for business and BU leadership, including P&L summaries, cost centre reports, and margin analysis.
  • Support the delivery of monthly dashboards, KPIs, and performance packs.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting formats and data sources across functions.

Ad Hoc & Business Support

  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from controllers and business stakeholders.
  • Provide support in analysing trends, variances, and business drivers.
  • Help translate financial data into actionable insights for decision-making.

Process & Systems

  • Assist in improving reporting workflows and documentation.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel models).
  • Apply best practices in financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and contribute to automation initiatives.

 

The role requires solid English skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The Controlling Associates will play a critical role in ensuring the consistency and accuracy of reporting metrics and data provided to the finance department.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, BI Tools (especially Power BI), and ERP systems (such as Microsoft Navision, D365 and Jet Reports) and HFM.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends, anomalies, and provide data-driven insights.
  • Ability to develop and document comprehensive reports and KPIs.
  • High level of accuracy in data validation, reconciliation, and report preparation.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with BI tools (e.g. Power BI) and ERP systems is  an advantage.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in controlling, FP&A, or business analysis.
  • Exposure to month-end closing, inventory analysis, and revenue recognition (e.g. ASC 606) is beneficial.
