Job Description: 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Systems Analyst will serve as a key member on the AMETEK database and data analytics support teams, with specific responsibilities to analyze and understand business requirements in the Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics areas.  He/she will have a knowledge leadership role in at least one of these functional areas.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop analytics solutions using Qlik, SQL, and relational databases.
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Working with Back End database teams, optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficiency and reliability for the user experience.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Qlik Sense or similar BI tools.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards.
  • Be an advocate of data security principles and ensure security practices are being followed.
  • Gain credibility as an "evaluator" of requests, respond quickly and effectively to the issues, follow through to ensure the issue is addressed and anticipate related or future issues.
  • Support users with training and user documentation as required

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Information System or similar relevant degree.
  • Proven experience in understanding business needs, implementing and supporting Business Intelligence interactive dashboards, automated reporting of key metrics, etc.

 

OTHER SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

 

  • A comprehensive understanding of data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load).
  • Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: Qlik Sense (strongly desired): other relationship databases MS SQL, Azure SQL, etc (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-system data integration and support.
  • Experience working within and complying with change management processes and controls
  • Excellent problem solving and data modelling skills.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment and driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
  • English language essential, spoken and written.
