Ametek STC is strengthening its global technical support organization and is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Application Engineer to join our team in Serbia. This role is critical to support our continued growth, as customer demand for advanced technical dialogue is increasing across key product areas.
The Application Engineer will serve as a central technical expert supporting customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders worldwide. Examples of focus areas include but are not limited to Factory Automation’s CATRAC cable and hose carriers, GEMCO rotary and position measurement equipment, and Industrial brakes along with Hunter Spring’s springs, mechanical reels, static reels and electric cord reels.
By transferring and building further technical knowledge into this role, the position will significantly enhance responsiveness, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, while enabling Sales and Product Management teams to focus on core commercial growth activities.
Position Description:
The Application Engineer is the primary point of contact for customers contacting AMETEK Sensors, Test & Calibration by phone, email or other electronic channels. This role delivers timely customer support and technical product assistance while partnering with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and other internal teams to ensure positive customer experience.
- Respond to inbound customer calls and emails within 24 hours, minimizing voicemail and ensuring timely resolution
- Provide technical and application support by delivering accurate product information, datasheets, manuals, and drawings
- Triage and coordinate resolution of customer issues involving pricing, quality, shipping, and service
- Connect end users with appropriate regional distributors, sales representatives, and eCommerce channels
- Log customer and sales interactions in Salesforce and route qualified leads to the appropriate team
- Enter, maintain, and manage sales leads, applications and opportunities in Salesforce.
- Generate, provide and follow up on quotes to customers
- Ensure compliance with AMETEK policies, procedures and export regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Completed secondary education (high school diploma) and a Associate or Bachelor’s degree from a college or technical school is required
- Ability to be customer facing, 3+ years’ hands-on technical sales preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
- Self-motivated, able to work with little supervision.
- Familiarity with technical drawings and ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Previous experience with ERP software (Oracle preferred); CRM software (Salesforce preferred)
- Ability to work online with customers and where required onsite
- Empathy and patience when handling customer issues
- Active listening skills and focus on asking clarifying questions
- Strong communication skills for solutions/walkthroughs
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a global matrix organization
