Job Description: 

 

The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative and general maintenance on equipment and facilities.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Under minimal supervision, installs, repairs, and maintains in accordance with machine manuals, prints, or by referral to building codes:
    • Physical structures.
    • Electrical wiring.
    • Plumbing and fixtures.
  •  Includes motor and engines, CNC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, VFD, numeric control and PLC.
  • Assists higher-level maintenance.
  • Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Responsible for facility and ground maintenance.
  • Expected to be on call.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Occasional use of personal vehicle may be needed for pickup/delivery of machine parts.
  • Other maintenance and facilities duties as assigned.
  • Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have skills in motor and engines, single and 3-phase electric, CNC, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic, VFD, numeric control, PLC and general mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, gearboxes, clutches, brakes and valves of different types.
  • Experience in machinery used in wire forming, spring manufacturing, stamping, cleaning degreasing, grinding blasters, and mobile equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in building maintenance (Facilities, AC units, heating units, roof, fans)
  • Must have computer literacy skills.
  • Strong initiative required to accomplish departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Interpersonal communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and required to utilize continuous improvement skills.
  • Ability to perform diversified tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate good customer service skills by being responsive and following up to customer needs.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $90,000
Incentive:  No
