Job Summary:
The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for performing routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of electrical wiring and power supply systems. This role ensures the integrity and functionality of electrical components through systematic testing and problem resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support team and organizational goals.
Technical Responsibilities
- Set up standard test apparatus and equipment to perform functional and operational tests, ensuring accurate evaluation of unit performance.
- Analyze and interpret test data to identify performance trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
- Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components as needed, documenting the impact on unit performance.
- Conduct point-to-point wire checks using wiring documentation to verify continuity and accuracy.
- Perform DC power supply testing, interpret results, and ensure systems meet required specifications.
- Diagnose and repair power supply issues, replacing or modifying components as necessary.
- Inspect assembly work for quality compliance, document non-conformances, and collaborate with Assemblers to improve overall product quality.
Documentation Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete test records for all assigned projects.
- Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to the Test Supervisor when necessary to address design or process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Be able to read schematics and have knowledge of power supply circuitry.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the inspection, testing and repair of basic wiring systems.
- Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment including a soldering iron, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, sweep generator, power meters, DVMs, VOMs, power supplies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative-driven environment.
