Job Description: 

The Controller will work as a business partner with the Country Manager, peers and subordinates to lead key initiatives that drive business growth and operation excellence, and develop long-term business strategy for AMETEK’s businesses in S.E.Asia/ Australia/Taiwan. The Controller will have responsibility for administering AMETEK Southeast Asia/Taiwan/Australia Finance and accounting activities to meet the Corporation’s objectives for accurately and comprehensively reporting its operating performance and the business units which it supports including compliance with Government law and AMETEK’s policies and procedures. As such, he/she will also be responsible for implementing new processes, systems to enhance the control environment. In addition, he/ she will have responsibility for all Corporate, Tax, Legal and Treasury matters and co-ordination with external auditors and Corporate functions, participate in due diligence and responsible for integration of newly acquired entities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Will directly report to Div VP-Asia Controller and functional report to SE Asia Country Managers, and provide overall financial leadership to the finance team in SE Asia
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Controllers and support their financial reporting
  • Maintaining effective internal controls over the 4 entities operations to ensure continued control and protection of its assets, accurate reporting of its financial position, Tax Filings, and compliance with SOX. 
  • Support treasury & working capital management in the 4 entities
  • Provide leadership and oversee statutory, tax and management reporting of the 4 entities as well as budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting of actual results and insightful financial analysis of business performance. Own the FP&A activities for Southeast Asia
  • Control overhead costs and expenses
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, tax bureau. Arranging for audits of company accounts and interfacing with internal and external audit staff and manage tax and treasury matters
  • Develop the financial staff
  • Support S.E.Asia, Taiwan & Australia country managers to meet growth strategies and solve business challenges. Preparation of budgets, review of budget proposals, and preparing necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Support the Country Manager deliver strategic growth initiatives including directing special studies and analyses concerning economic and financial implications of existing and planned AMETEK business initiatives.
  • Support integration of new business units into the 4 entities including financial reporting, business processes, ERP system set up and support.
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in the commercial back office processes to support business growth.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Finance or its equivalent, ACCA/CPA preferred.
  • At least 8 to 10 years finance working experiences in manufacturing enterprise and regional commercial operations.
  • Be familiar with standard practices in a US company, especially in internal control
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and inter-personal skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Efficient self-organization skills to maintain high level of multi-tasking
  • A proven track record in strong Finance leadership preferably gained in a multisite, multi BU environment.
  • Must have hands on style prepared to get involved in the detail and be compliance focused and data driven. These are key attributes of AMETEK business culture.
  • Ability to work in complex, highly matrixed environment, with remote corporate Finance policy guidance and direction.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Familiarity with sales and service and light manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to lean/ kaizen methodologies will be added advantage
