Job Description: 

The Continuous Improvement Manager leads Operational Excellence initiatives that improve business performance, reduce cost, strengthen working capital, and build a sustainable lean culture across the business.  This role partners with business leaders to identify improvement opportunities, align training and project plans with strategic objectives, assign clear ownership, and drive execution through measurable results. The role analyzes current processes, develops and implements workflow improvements, leads Kaizen events, deploys visual management, drives AI innovation, supports employee training, and tracks cost-reduction and productivity gains. The position requires a hands-on Lean/Six Sigma professional who can collaborate effectively across functions and influence peers and teams to deliver continuous improvement priorities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Operational Excellence across the campus and business units in alignment with LCR, GEO, functional, corporate, AI initiatives and AMETEK objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute improvement projects that improve productivity, quality, safety, capacity utilization, space optimization, energy use, working capital, and cost performance.
  • Partner with business leaders, Finance, and the OpEx Core Team to validate savings, track results, close business gaps, and report monthly Operational Excellence impact.
  • Lead Kaizen events, continuous improvement projects, value stream mapping, daily management, visual management, standard work, 5S, SMED, material flow, cellular flow, built-in quality, and related Lean methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver OpEx training programs, manage the OpEx skills matrix, coach leaders and employees, and build sustainable continuous improvement capability.
  • Support facility layout design, workspace optimization, equipment procurement, equipment upgrades, feasibility studies, and production line efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate across business units, departments, and company groups to share best practices, promote Lean thinking, and embed Operational Excellence as a way of working.
  • Ensure improvement activities comply with applicable EHS, quality, regulatory, internal policy, and professional standards.
  • Maintain accurate, transparent, and timely project documentation, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the position and support business needs.

 

Our requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Management, Lean Operations, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Operational Excellence, process improvement, manufacturing engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, or a related continuous improvement role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or service-based environment using TPS, Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading change, implementing operational improvements, and working in a matrixed organization.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, machining, test, calibration, quality, and regulatory environments.
  • Collaborative business partner with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, facilitation, coaching, and conflict-management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, decision-making, organizational, and mentoring capabilities.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to a professional business code of conduct
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, VSM, 5S, SMED, Standard Work, Visual Management).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process gaps, perform root cause analysis, and implement process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to quickly learn and utilize business systems (ERP, LMS, CMMS, analytics, collaboration, and Agile tools).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM or layout software for workspace and facility optimization is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

Salary Minimum:  200,000
Salary Maximum:  300,000 +
