JOB SUMMARY:

This China Territory Sales Engineer position is responsible for promoting the Scientific Instruments electrochemistry products by working closely with the SI Sales Representatives.  This role requires the candidate not only to offer pro-sales support to the sales team by providing demonstrations of products, presentations of techniques & applications, and sample testing, but also to identify and promote sales opportunities by providing installation and after-sales technical support to existing users, in order to secure sales growth and capture market share.  As a fully contributing member of the sales team, this role will also conduct direct selling activities for Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical brands of products if they are needed.  Further, this position will also support all sales information collection, recording and analysis as well as provide overall sales support as assigned to ensure the Scientific Instruments China business running in good efficiency and reliability.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Promote business for Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical brands of products within the assigned territory to help the SI Sales team achieve annual orders quota and performance targets.
  • Become knowledgeable about the use and operational benefits of the Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical brands of products. Understand the technical and application documentation provided by the manufacturing facilities.
  • Conduct demonstrations of SI products, presentations of techniques & applications and sample testing (including hardware and software) before selling.  In addition, the candidate will conduct product installations, customers training and technical support after the sale.
  • Provide technical material (application notes, competition information) to the sales team. 
  • Do technical presentations in marketing communication activities including seminars and workshops etc, and help make marketing communication related materials including videos and assays etc. 
  • Develop long-term relationships with the key accounts (experts, researchers) and ensure overall customer satisfaction. 
  • Identify and assess new sales opportunities for existing products as well as opportunities for new product development from existing users. 
  • Provide customer feedback to the management concerning the products that have been sold into the local territory and market.
  • Finish all the work reports and operate the CRM system as needed. 

 

MINIMUM SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Chemistry required. Master's degree or PhD in electrochemistry is preferred.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of relevant working experience in technical support and/or sales is required.
  • Must possess the Ability to working independently, self-motivated effectively. 
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time. 
  • Must be located within reasonable distance to Shanghai for regular travel.  
  • Must be fluent in writing and speaking both Chinese and English languages. 
  • Must have effective communication skills as it pertains to sales. 
  • Must be able to Read, analyze, and interpret professional, scientific, and technical documents.  
  • Must be able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  
  • Must be able to apply advacned mathematical operations as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  • Has expreince with problem solving tools and is an effective problem-solver, and enjoys solving problems. 
  • Is an exceptional reasoning skills as it pertains to collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data. 
  • Has experience working directly with both internal and external customers and is an exceptional communicator. 
  • Is an excellent teamplayer with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Is highly literate with the ability to use common PC software applications as well as the ability to solve problems and configure settings with network adapters and other devices.
  • Is self-motivated and able to carry out tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Has reliable transportation and is able to drive. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

  • This position offer's remote work flexibility in a highly technical, results and sales driven enviornment. 
  • Business casual attire is required. Formal attire may be required occsionally. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, working at heights, outdoor weather conditions, risk of radiation, vibration, to work near moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All required personal protective equipment will be provided if/when working in hazordous conditions. 
  • There is a high amount of travel up to 50% of the time to attend customer locations, conferences, trade shows, and internal company locations.
