As a Production Technician based Shanghai, you will assemble and test Zygo products to defined requirements and within standard work time. You will support warehouse inventory control, packing and shipping activities, service needs, and the training of new technicians when appropriate, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and precision in a technical production environment. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assemble and test Zygo products according to defined requirements, standard work instructions, and direction from the Production Manager, Production Supervisor, and cell lead. 

  • Perform electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, mechanical, electrical, and/or optical assembly activities in a highly technical production environment. 

  • Work independently with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and attention to detail. 

  • Follow cleanroom, facility, ESD, safety, and quality procedures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. 

  • Read and interpret basic mechanical and electronic drawings, where applicable, to support precise assembly and testing activities. 

  • Support warehouse inventory control, packing, and shipping activities as needed. 

  • Provide training support to less experienced technicians when appropriate and within demonstrated capability. 

  • Support service-related production needs as required. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities that strengthen production quality, efficiency, and safety. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • At least 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, optical, electro-mechanical, or opto-mechanical assembly in a technical production environment. 

  • Understanding of ESD safety practices and ability to follow cleanroom and facility procedures. 

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different functions, including production, warehouse, quality, and service teams. 

  • Ability to work independently, remain focused under pressure, and maintain high attention to detail in a precision manufacturing environment. 

  • Mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, optics, or related technical background preferred. 

  • Experience assembling optical instruments or precision technical products preferred. 

  • Basic English knowledge is preferred, including the ability to read and write simple emails or work-related documentation. 

  • Recent college or university graduates with relevant technical education are welcome to apply. 

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
