As the Electronics Engineer, you will work in conjunction with mechanical, electronics and applications engineering to create, develop, customize, validate, and maintain electronics hardware and firmware incorporated into motor driven dynamic fluid solutions.  Products must meet the needs of a demanding customer base who require industry leading life, reliability, durability, and full featured customization. 

What you will do:

  • Design and maintain product firmware for communication busses, motor drives and control interfaces in C, C++, Python or C#
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs to validate performance meets customer requirements
  • Apply basic engineering principles and analysis to the resolution of technical problems; perform development, design and analysis of new products; provide design validation testing for new products; interpret design results and data; confer with other engineering personnel as to the validity of their work product
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Engineering personnel to develop customizable end products to meet the needs of customers
  • Provide product, process and firmware analysis and direct support to customers and manufacturing plants for products
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to formulate and test electronic designs
  • Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent field; A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge in digital and analog electronics design.
  • Ability to develop and modify C firmware as utilized in AMETEK products for motor drive applications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer specifications, scientific and technical journals, and agency specifications
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to confidently and effectively present to and interact with customers and management
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Demonstrated strong PC skills and excellent working knowledge of engineering principles.

Additional characteristics:

  • Understanding of brushless motor drive hardware, software, and algorithms
  • Experience with PCB design and layout tools
  • Experience with Schematic capture tools
  • Experience with microcontroller integrated development environments and tools
  • Experience with test equipment, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, and multimeters
  • SMT soldering experience and comfortable with board level modifications
  • Knowledge or coursework in Embedded Software and Systems
  • Knowledge of circuit board development and assembly
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally, up to 10% of the time
