SUMMARY
The Sales Applications Specialist – AMETEK Chatillon Products will be the primary commercial and technical application resource for the Chatillon portfolio, including force measurement, materials testing, torque measurement, and weighing solutions. The role will support profitable growth by helping customers select and configure the right products, converting technical enquiries and web leads into sales opportunities, and strengthening the Chatillon e-commerce buying experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, distributors, sales, marketing, product management, service, and engineering to provide application guidance, support key accounts, capture market feedback, and improve customer-facing technical content. The position will also help drive digital sales initiatives by improving product information, online tools, FAQs, application notes, and other resources that enable customers to confidently purchase through the e-commerce channel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Provide application and product selection support for Chatillon force measurement, materials testing, torque, and weighing products.
- Respond to customer, distributor, and sales inquiries through phone, email and other digital channels.
- Convert technical inquiries, web leads, and customer application needs into qualified sales opportunities.
- Support key customer accounts, particularly where application expertise is required to win or retain business.
- Partner with sales teams to progress opportunities through Salesforce CRM or quote direct through e-commerce tools.
- Work with Marketing to improve e-commerce product listings, technical specifications, FAQs, online selection tools, and customer-facing technical content.
- Identify opportunities to upsell accessories, software, calibration services, and complementary products.
- Provide product and market feedback to Product Management and Engineering to support product improvements and new product introductions.
- Develop and deliver customer and internal training materials, webinars, demonstrations, application notes, and technical documentation.
- Monitor competitive products, applications, and digital sales approaches to strengthen Chatillon’s market position
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physical Sciences, Industrial Technology, Business, or another relevant technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in applications engineering, technical sales or product support in a related market.
- Working knowledge of force measurement, materials testing, calibration, sensors, instrumentation, or mechanical testing equipment.
- Strong ability to understand customer applications and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to convert technical enquiries and web leads into sales opportunities.
- Experience supporting e-commerce, digital lead generation, online product tools, or customer self-service purchasing is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide input to marketing for application notes, product guides, training material, FAQs, and customer-facing documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities across customers, sales teams, marketing, and product management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 20% to support customers, distributors, trade shows, training, and internal business needs.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
