Job Description: 

An electrical engineer for Crystal Engineering will, under minimal supervision, provide leadership in the design, development, test and evaluation of products that meet the cost, performance and timeliness requirements defined by the Product Groups. Additional duties include project engineering activities such as planning, scheduling, and reporting, as well as performing required duties to meet project requirements, within the established cost/schedule constraints, as defined by CEC’s quality system.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Project Plans, Requirement Documents, Test Plans, Test Reports and other documentation as required by CEC’s quality system and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Design, build, test and evaluate digital and analog circuits/subassemblies to meet the performance, cost and scheduling requirements as defined by the project team and the company’s goals.
  • Integrate subassemblies (mechanical and electrical) into prototype units; support continuing product development, test, system verification, and validation, throughout the development process and into production release.
  • Resolve product nonconformance issues; implement product and process improvement/cost reduction initiatives via CEC’s CAPA and Engineering Change processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support CEC’s Mission Statement and Company Goals.
  • Lead the certification process to obtain product certifications for hazardous environments, Bluetooth, etc.

 

Qualifications and Technologies:

Qualifications

  • B.S.E.E. or equivalent electrical/electronic based technical degree. Non-degreed individuals may fill this classification with substantial industry experience per the discretion of the hiring manager.Minimum five years practical engineering experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Altium Designer schematic capture and circuit design tools.
  • Familiar with printed circuit board layout technology and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry (design, test, troubleshooting).
  • Working knowledge of microcontroller firmware design/coding (various chipsets/languages).
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures and measurement of pressure, temperature, EMC, and RF interference.
  • Advanced math skills (e.g., algebra and calculus) and working knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal; e.g., the ability to prepare, present and discuss project related plans, requirements, test results, etc. in a team based work environment.
  • Comprehensive, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office PC LAN environment including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail, Schedule, etc.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to sit and occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.   • Test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply, environmental chamber, logic analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, etc.).

  • Office machines (computer, copier, fax, etc.).
