Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will perform related duties in the design of AC and DC power conversion hardware and embedded digital controllers, at the system and circuit level, during the product development cycle, and performs sustaining engineering of released products. Supporting engineering team with different activities related to product release, pilot run build, documentation support and etc.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • High level in organization skills, follow up, schedule, tracking activities, reporting progress
  • Participate in design power and control circuits as utilized in programmable AC and DC power products. Generate product documentation (schematics and BOMs), content for manuals, test procedures, reports, and process ECOs.
  • Provide technical expertise in the areas of power converters, analog/digital controls, modeling, and simulation during product development: analog/digital/power design, mechanical packaging, PWB design, safety certification, and product test.
  • Perform hands-on laboratory engineering work, encompassing hardware/firmware prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting/debugging.
  • Evaluate designs, and perform hardware/firmware validation, throughout the product development cycle, and sustaining in production.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • 1 years of relevant experience in the new product development and release. 
  • Competent, at the system and circuit level, in design of electronic circuits as used in power converters and digital controllers, with good analytical skills and knowledge of practical design implementations.
  • Proficient in common engineering design tools, such as simulation software, mathematical analysis, schematic capture, MS Excel/Word, and database applications.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and techniques as required to ensure product design manufacturability, testability, and serviceability.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing process, sourcing of material.
  • Communication skills working with suppliers and vendors.
  • Good interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design of switched-mode power conversion products is desirable.
  • Experience in feedback controls and magnetics design is desirable.
  • Experience with PWB layout software is desirable.

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Salary Range: 

The annual pay range for this position generally ranges between $70,000.00 - $90,000.00. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition, AMETEK provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee assistance program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
