Job Description: 

Supervises day-to-day materials management activities for the HSC plant, including Buyer and Planner roles, warehouse operations, production control planning, purchasing support, MRO, inventory control, stockroom, and shipping/receiving. Supports continuous improvement efforts related to quality, delivery, cost reduction, inventory reduction, and material flow by monitoring priorities, following up on open actions, and working with production scheduling to help meet production schedules and customer requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise warehouse employees responsible for receiving, stockroom, inventory movement, material handling, kitting, shipping, and related warehouse activities.
  • Supervise Buyer and Planner roles for the HSC plant, including purchasing follow-up, supplier communication, planning priorities, material availability, and schedule support.
  • Assign daily work priorities, monitor workload, and train, coach, and guide employees to support safety, accuracy, productivity, and functional objectives.
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping, organization, inventory accuracy, cycle count support, and proper storage and handling of materials.
  • Ensure employees follow company procedures, safety requirements, transaction discipline, and material control practices for receiving, issuing, moving, and shipping product.
  • Coordinate the timely flow of materials through the production cycle to support production schedules, minimize past-due customer orders, and improve on-time delivery.
  • Support supplier communication, purchase order follow-up, contract administration, and procurement activities for raw materials and machined components.
  • Review MRP, blanket purchase order, supplier performance, exception, and open purchase order reports to support material availability and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Monitor MRP parameters and communicate required updates or corrections.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, machine shop, and other teams to address schedule changes and support smooth material and service flow.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities within Materials and Production Control areas.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in materials, planning, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse supervision, or a related manufacturing support function.
  • Prior experience supervising warehouse, stockroom, shipping/receiving, or material handling employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assign daily work, monitor performance, coach employees, and maintain accountability for warehouse safety, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Manufacturing experience required; aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting or supervising Buyer, Planner, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, or production control activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and ability to generate reports, analyze issues, and resolve problems using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent related experience and/or training; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • CPIM and/or CPM certification are a plus.

  • Employee must maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe work environment observing and practicing high standards of health and safety.  This includes wearing appropriate attire, such as protective safety glasses, appropriate closed-toed shoes and any other safety required gear where applicable.
