Job Summary:
The Commercialization Program Manager coordinates and executes new product commercialization activities from concept through launch. Working within an established New Product Development Phase-Gate process, this role drives plans, deliverables, reviews, risks, and cross-functional actions to completion. The position partners with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Service to ensure products are ready for successful market introduction. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and Commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate the established New Product Development Phase-Gate process, including project planning, Gate preparation, deliverable tracking, reviews, approvals, and follow-up actions.
Coordinate multiple commercialization projects from early analysis through launch, maintaining schedules, milestones, dependencies, budgets, risks, decisions, and ownership.
Drive cross-functional accountability and provide concise status reporting to project teams and business leadership.
Coordinate launch readiness across Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Service.
Develop and maintain commercialization and go-to-market plans, including market opportunity, competitive positioning, pricing inputs, channels, sales tools, training, documentation, service readiness, and launch timing.
Support Product Management with Voice of Customer activities, market research, business cases, product requirements, and opportunity assessments.
Plan and facilitate project meetings, working sessions, Gate reviews, launch reviews, and post-launch lessons learned.
Identify schedule, resource, cost, quality, and launch-readiness risks; coordinate mitigation actions and escalate issues when needed.
Ensure customer-facing and internal launch materials are completed, reviewed, and available for commercial release.
Track post-launch metrics, customer feedback, open actions, and improvement opportunities.
Improve the effectiveness, consistency, and visibility of the commercialization process using standard work, dashboards, templates, and appropriate AI-enabled tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
3 or more years of experience in product management, project management, program management, , commercialization, or new product development within a technical industry.
3 or more years of experience coordinating cross-functional projects with Engineering and at least two of the following functions: Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, or Service.
Experience supporting at least one technical product launch from development through commercial release.
Experience building and maintaining project schedules, action logs, risk registers, status reports, and leadership presentations.
Experience using project management and collaboration tools to organize work, communicate status, and drive follow-through.
Due to the nature of AMETEK Power Instruments programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Phase or Stage-Gate New Product Development processes, or a comparable product development process.
Experience with product management activities such as Voice of Customer, market analysis, business cases, product requirements, pricing, positioning, or roadmap development.
Experience with power systems, instrumentation, electronics, automation, industrial technology, or test and measurement products.
Experience with Project management or formal project management training.
Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical and business information clearly.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams, establish accountability, and move work forward without direct authority.
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
