WHAT YOU'LL DO

Metrology Technician for the Zygo Extreme Precision Optics Group in Richmond, CA. Zygo EPO is a leading edge, precision optical manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for generating a consistent flow of high quality work through the test department. This position will collaborate with supervisor and planning group to meet on-time delivery schedules. This position will assist in continually improving test procedures and methods with a mind toward efficiency.

  • Perform various tests on optical surfaces including interferometer, CMM, AFM, and PMM
  • Perform calibration and insure proper operation on specific equipment and custom optical tests
  • Setup and break down various test configurations involving CGH’s, DMIS, or secondary mirrors
  • Run software analysis routines on test data and interpret results as passing or failing
  • Handle and clean optical components without downgrading the surfaces
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by following cleaning schedules and inventory control
  • Perform maintenance and preventatives maintenance on test equipment and tooling
  • Work with engineering on developing testing methods for new products

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • HS Diploma or equivalent plus 3 years related work experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with simple troubleshooting of processes
  • Experience with optics and optical testing preferred but not required
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Careful, well organized and detail oriented
  • Strong computer skills including MS Work and Excel
  • Basic math skills

 

WHAT'S NICE TO HAVE

  • Associate degree in related technical field plus 5 years related work experience
  • Experience with Zygo Mx, MetroPro and other optical metrology software

Compensation

Salary Minimum:  $50,000
Salary Maximum:  $70,000
Incentive:  No
