Job Description:
The Sourcing Specialist supports the procurement and sourcing team by executing operational tasks related to supplier identification, cost analysis, and material acquisition. This role ensures timely and cost-effective sourcing of components, materials, and services while maintaining compliance with company standards and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Drive key initiatives to keep data records for internal review and follow with suppliers.
- Assist to develop and manage Requests for Proposal, Requests for Quotation and Requests for Information process in conjunction with team members.
- In conjunction with site teams, support projects to assure right number of approved suppliers to accomplish supply load; establish supply base reduction plans or new supplier qualification plans as appropriate.
- Compile & publish supplier performance metrics and corrective action for KPI metrics such as: PPV, Supplier OTD and Quality, Inventory.
- Support development of standardized sourcing and supply chain procedures and practices.
- Assure suppliers, processes and procedures are consistent with AS9100 requirements.
- Assist in identifying and qualifying new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing supplier quotations to support cost negotiations.
- Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, supplier data, and purchase orders in ERP systems.
- Support the sourcing team in preparing reports, cost comparisons, and supplier performance metrics.
- Communicate with all AMETEK’s stakeholders to help achieve required Customer Approvals
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, discrepancies, or quality concerns.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to resolve material or supplier issues.
- Provide technical support for sourcing projects as needed.
- Track order status and ensure on-time delivery.
- Support cost comparison and negotiation preparation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Industrial Engineer or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
- 1–3 years in sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain operations
- English 85 -100% speaking .
- Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP system required. Strong computer skills are a must, to include: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Power BI as a plus.
- Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry preferred.
- Experience in logistics as plus.
