Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to lead and support all activities related to supplier quality. This includes First Article Inspection (FAI) approvals, supplier development, and support for new supplier introduction. The role is critical in ensuring that materials received from vendors meet quality standards and that key characteristics are controlled to guarantee customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support FAI approvals and incoming inspection activities for non-conforming products.
  • Coordinate and supervise incoming inspection quality auditors.
  • Analyze operational opportunities and propose practical solutions.
  • Communicate supplier-related issues across departments as needed.
  • Approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) from vendors.
  • Manage and control the MRB (Material Review Board) area for supplier-related issues (RTV).
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to suppliers and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Lead and implement supplier development programs.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits and support supplier qualification processes.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, etc.) to resolve supplier issues.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FAI, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA).
  • Ensure proper use and calibration of measurement and test equipment.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards.
  • Experience in supplier management and negotiation.
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab or other statistical software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
