Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to lead and support all activities related to supplier quality. This includes Supplier management, First Article Inspection (FAI) approvals, supplier development, and support for new supplier introduction. The role is critical in ensuring that materials received from vendors meet quality standards and that key characteristics are controlled to guarantee customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive supplier performance with creation and assessment of vendor KPI’s, robust management of supplier performance data.
  • Monitor and address performance trends to ensure control and effectiveness of corrective actions.  Establish KPI’s and dashboards, leveraging Power BI, Net Inspect and other tools.
  • Drive best practices for FAI approvals and incoming inspection activities for non-conforming products.
  • Train, coordinate and supervise incoming inspection quality auditors.
  • Execute continuous improvement to improve materials flow at incoming inspection, including development and management of skip lot processes.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues with cross-functional teams and ensure read-across to similar parts.
  • Approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) from vendors.
  • Manage and drive a robust MRB (Material Review Board) area for supplier-related issues (RTV).
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to suppliers, ensure closure and monitoring of effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Lead and implement supplier development program.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits and support supplier qualification processes, in partnership with Supply Chain.
  • Strong problem solving skills, able to apply problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, etc.) to resolve supplier and manufacturing issues.
  • Participate with supply chain in supplier selection process, based on performance and quality score data.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FAI, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA).
  • Reduce required inspections using Cpk data and flowdown of inspection requirements to suppliers.
  • Ensure proper use and calibration of measurement and test equipment.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • English 90% required.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards.
  • Experience in supplier management and negotiation.
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab or other statistical software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.

 

Travel expectation – 10 - 25% of the time.
