Job Description: 

The Senior Buyer Planner is responsible for managing the planning and procurement of materials to support production and customer demand. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials through the supply chain, maintains accurate inventory levels, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in materials planning, sourcing, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment, along with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and supplier management.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of materials flow to ensure efficient and accurate inventory control.
  • Maintain oversight of all goods inventories, ensuring accuracy in quantity, location, and condition.
  • Oversee and coordinate all inventory-related transactions, including:
    • Procurement of materials and supplies
    • Production planning and scheduling
    • Cost control and budgeting
    • Warehouse operations and layout optimization
    • Receiving and inspection of incoming goods
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders by aligning material availability with production schedules.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements in materials management processes.

 

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience in management of materials and sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in total quality, six sigma, or other similar environments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish
  • CPIM certification preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Materials Planning
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control tools such Kanbans, Cycle Counting, Safety Stocks, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, electronics  componets.
