Job Description:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the master production schedule in alignment with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) consensus plan. This role collaborates closely with the operations planning team, supply chain buyers/planners, customer service, and sales to coordinate manufacturing plans that support company objectives for customer service, capacity utilization, and inventory optimization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and adjust the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and capacity utilization.
- Execute rescheduling activities when demand changes occur, materials are delayed, or operational issues arise.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of master data within the ERP system.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure feasibility of the production plan.
- Support demand planning activities and participate in SIOP processes.
- Identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and propose actions to mitigate supply/demand imbalances.
- Monitor inventory levels and drive strategies for improvement.
- Provide timely communication of schedule changes to stakeholders.
- Utilize analytical tools to create reports, dashboards, and insights to support planning decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing/maquiladora environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query).
- Experience with MPS (Master Production Scheduling).
- Knowledge of demand planning processes.
- ERP experience (Oracle preferred).
- Inventory control knowledge.
- Power BI (preferred).
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
