Job Description:
The RSC Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the Repair Station by evaluating, developing, and maintaining approved data, processes, and documentation related to the repair and overhaul of components. This role ensures compliance with aviation regulatory requirements and customer specifications, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate technical data (e.g., CMMs, drawings, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, DER Repairs) for applicability and compliance.
- Support the development and approval of new repairs, including self-evaluations for capability list updates.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure proper implementation and revision control of technical data.
- Provide engineering support to production teams, including troubleshooting, process improvement, and root cause analysis.
- Review and approve repair documentation, traveler sheets, and technical instructions.
- Ensure all repair processes comply with approved data and current regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and control engineering records, specifications, and process validations.
- Support calibration, tooling, and special process qualifications as needed.
- Interface with customers, OEMs, and regulatory agencies regarding technical matters and engineering approvals.
- Provide technical training and guidance to technicians when necessary.
- Ensure continuous compliance with FAA CFR Part 145, EASA Part 145, MOE, and internal procedures.
- Approve or recommend approval of technical data within authorized scope.
- Request corrective actions for nonconforming technical data or processes.
- Initiate engineering evaluations or investigations as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a repair station or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 43, Part 145, EASA Part 145, and relevant industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and process specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
