Job Description:
As a Quality Auditor you will perform quality audits of the following: finished products, sub-assemblies, components in incoming inspection and production processes, inspections can be based on an inspection plan or 100%.
Responsibilities
- Perform final inspection activities in accordance with applicable procedures, quality standards, and work instructions, against customer and AMETEK specifications and drawings.
- Notify appropriate production supervisors if non-conforming product is found during inspection activities.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming or suspect finished product identified in final inspection or during process inspections.
- Keeping inspection report(s) up to date.
- Support in performing functional and visual evaluations of finished product to determine conformance or non-conformance to applicable specifications and requirements.
- Support, if required, production in the evaluation of material designated as "scrap" from suppliers to determine the final disposition of the same.
- Ensure documentation and monitoring of process controls by production personnel through process and first piece inspections in accordance with related procedures and work instructions.
- Support in the establishment of acceptance and rejection criteria for processes and products under his/her responsibility (first samples, samples, visual aids, etc.) based on manufacturing standards and customer requirements.
- Support in the generation and maintenance of quality and data collection tools that assist the manufacturing and engineering departments in the identification (recording), tracking and elimination of major quality problems identified in the process (e.g. end of line rejection charts and control charts).
- Ensure compliance and implementation of quality changes or certifications implemented in the process lines under his/her responsibility.
- Coordination and participation in the implementation and maintenance activities of the company's quality system.
- Initiate actions that prevent the occurrence of discrepancies related to the product, process, and quality system, including production shutdown when required.
- Control the processing, shipment or disposition of non-conforming or discrepant product until the deficiency or non-conforming condition is corrected.
- Analyze daily production opportunities to take practical solutions.
- Consults with different departments on issues that are out of normal process.
- Communicates pertinent issues to all areas involved.
- Other activities as identified by your supervisor according to the needs of the company.
Requirements
- High School Diploma preferred.
- 6 months of experience as an auditor (preferably) or 6 months minimum industrial manufacturing environment.
- Handling of measuring equipment (preferably Caliper, micrometer, optical comparator, etc).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Proactive and responsible.
