Job Title: Purchasing Supervisor

Bison, an AMETEK business, is seeking a hands-on Purchasing Supervisor to lead daily purchasing activities supporting our Reynosa manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for managing a team of buyers, to ensure material availability, improve supplier delivery performance, prevent shortages, and support production and customer delivery commitments.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, drives accountability, escalates issues early, and works proactively to resolve supplier and material challenges before they impact operations. The role requires urgency, sound judgment, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality, with the ability to manage frequent coordination across suppliers and internal teams.
What you will do:
- Lead and develop a team of buyers responsible for direct and indirect material procurement.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed accurately, and suppliers provide timely acknowledgements and delivery commitments.
- Drive supplier delivery performance and manage recovery plans for late or high-risk suppliers.
- Lead daily reviews of material shortages, past due purchase orders, and production risks.
- Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Support inventory optimization while maintaining service levels and production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with approved sourcing strategies and supplier assignments.
- Develop and improve purchasing processes, metrics, and reporting.
- Drive a culture of ownership, urgency, communication, and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing processes.
- Experience managing supplier performance, shortages, and delivery issues.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
