Job Description: 

The Materials Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of productive materials to support manufacturing operations. This role maintains precise SAP transactions, enforces material flow practices such as FIFO, and upholds safety, quality, and 5S standards within the warehouse. The Materials Specialist plays a key role in the efficiency, accuracy, and continuity of material supply to production lines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Receive productive materials, ensuring accurate verification, documentation, and system entry.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the work area according to 5S and safety standards.
  • Follow all established safety and quality rules, procedures, and policies.
  • Escalate issues, deviations, or material-related problems to management and provide follow-up until resolved.
  • Deliver materials to production lines according to material tickets and production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date SAP transactions, including invoice records, packing lists, and material receipt documentation.
  • Ensure proper application of FIFO in all material handling activities.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to maintain an efficient flow of materials.
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting discrepancies between physical and system quantities.

 

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Technical career preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, receiving, materials handling, or shipping.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Knowledge of FIFO material flow practices.
  • Understanding of 5S and workplace organization.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
