Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will oversee the transfer of manufacturing lines, new product introductions, and the overall management of our aerospace manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional leadership skills, and experience in a unionized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute manufacturing line transfers, particularly from the US to Mexico, with a focus on aerospace products.
- Lead new product line startups, ensuring effective high-level planning and execution.
- Apply strong leadership and problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement in aerospace manufacturing.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles, visual management, and P.F.M.E.A. techniques.
- Apply root cause analysis and PCDA process to improve operations
- Utilize digital tools such as MS Office, AutoCAD, and Oracle to enhance productivity.
- Communicate effectively in both Spanish and English, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Navigate and manage operations within a unionized Mexican workforce.
- Travel is required to support program management in transfers and NPI, including financial oversight.
Education & Skills:
- 5 years + experience working on a similiar position.
- Engineering Bachelor Degree.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing line transfer and new product introduction (NPI) within the aerospace industry, preferably from the US to Mexico.
- Metal Mechanic experience, mainly in 3-5 axis mill machining for complex configurations.
- Experience and good understanding of tig welding, brazing and heat treatment,
- Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record in problem-solving and Lean manufacturing. Experience dealing with Tier 1 customers.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Oracle, or similar software.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Willingness to travel and manage program activities related to transfers and NPI, including financial aspects.
