Job Description: 

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes within the production area. You will ensure the proper implementation and follow-up of these processes, determine phase capabilities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability of process equipment, tooling, and special tools for production.
  • Verify that process equipment is included in the preventive maintenance schedule and complies with measurement standards.
  • Ensure tooling and special tools meet required standards and are maintained within minimum/maximum inventory levels.
  • Maintain updated records of drawings, spare parts lists, and technical documentation for equipment, tooling, fixtures, and special tools.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in processes, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Develop and implement error-proofing systems (poka-yoke) for assigned equipment.
  • Standardize work procedures and apply manufacturing best practices.
  • Actively participate in cell teams to achieve High Five metrics.
  • Support training initiatives to develop technicians and operators as needed.
  • Lead customer complaint investigations using 8D methodology and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage MCOs/ECOs and BOM updates.
  • Support new product introductions by developing tooling and processes.
  • Participate in capital investment projects.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive or aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience in mechanical processes.
  • Conversational English required.
  • Experience in automation processes and familiarity with PLC programming (preferred).
  • Solid experience with AutoCAD or CAM software (preferred).
  • Green Belt certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English (preferred).
  • Experience working in unionized environments.
