Job Description: 

The Jr. Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement of direct and indirect materials required for manufacturing operations. This position works closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely material availability, accurate purchase order management, and effective inventory control while contributing to cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage material procurement and inventory control activities to support production and customer demand.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production to ensure 100% on-time delivery and proactively resolve issues.
  • Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical usage to develop build-to-order and build-to-forecast plans.
  • Establish and implement best practices for inventory, forecasting, purchasing, and material control systems.
  • Prepare and communicate customer delivery reports, identifying potential delays and coordinating with Customer Service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cost reduction initiatives and new product introductions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to purchasing.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by managing control systems and resolving discrepancies in coordination with Finance.
  • Conduct material management functions, including purchasing, planning, and warehousing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor based on company needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, materials planning, or supply chain functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
