Job Description: 

The Buyer is responsible for managing all aspects of material flow and maintaining control and accuracy over inventory, procurement, planning, scheduling, and receiving. This role ensures timely fulfillment of customer orders and identifies opportunities for operational improvements within the manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage material procurement and inventory control activities to support production and customer demand.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production to ensure 100% on-time delivery and proactively resolve issues.
  • Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical usage to develop build-to-order and build-to-forecast plans.
  • Establish and implement best practices for inventory, forecasting, purchasing, and material control systems.
  • Prepare and communicate customer delivery reports, identifying potential delays and coordinating with Customer Service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cost reduction initiatives and new product introductions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to purchasing.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by managing control systems and resolving discrepancies in coordination with Finance.
  • Conduct material management functions, including purchasing, planning, and warehousing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor based on company needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in materials management and sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
