Job Description: 

The Buyer is responsible for executing procurement activities of electronic components, metals, fabricated parts, and assemblies to support the manufacturing of programmable power supplies in a high-mix environment. Ensure timely delivery of materials in alignment with production schedules and company supply chain procedures. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase orders based on MRP output and production needs.
  • Monitor and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely arrival of materials.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier collaboration and alternative sourcing.
  • Assist in resolving supply issues and shortages in coordination with Planning and Warehousing.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Process supplier returns and replacements.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in inventory control efforts and support cycle count activities.
  • Assist in identifying potential suppliers and evaluating quotes.
  • Complete assigned tasks and support special projects as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics or related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain in a manufacturing environment (metal-mechanic industry preferred).
  • Strong fluency in English, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and interface at a technical level with US-based suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MRP systems (Navision, Oracle or similar is a plus).
  • Basic negotiation skills and ability to work with numbers.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
