Job Title: Assistant Plant Controller

The Assistant Plant Controller must effectively partner with the Plant Controller to ensure efficient plant operations related to production shipments, cost and continuous improvement initiatives. In support of this goal, this individual must be a strong finance leader who can effectively perform financial planning and analysis, assist in cost accounting issues as required, and ensure all necessary financial controls and regulations are in place and followed. Key elements include a hands-on approach, leadership, and overall business acumen. Experience in a manufacturing finance environment with a working knowledge of accounting is required.
This position reports directly to the SFMS Reynosa Plant Controller.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Plant Controller and business unit finance staff to deliver results.
- Directs, coordinates and participates in the preparation of annual cost budgets, considering volume, inflation, and productivity.
- Completes financial analysis, Discounted Cash Flow, ROI, Make/Buy analyses, and other business analysis as requested.
- Completes monthly financial closings, forecasting, and required LUXCO financial reporting.
- Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the function and the broader business unit.
- Maintains effective internal controls to ensure protection of assets and an accurate reporting of financial position. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Plans and executes annual inventory and fixed asset physicals.
- Supports both internal and external financial audits.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment required
- Strong background in Manufacturing cost and working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance
- Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills, well developed ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization
- Flexible and ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines

- Professional computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle experience a plus
