Job Description: 

We are looking for a Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our team.

As a member of the Technical Support Group, provide technical and sales support for customers, area managers, representatives, and distributors and for our international offices.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Perform technical review of RFQ specifications and provide quote proposals.
  • Interface with customers, representatives, and distributors to gather project requirements for evaluation of applications.
  • Write proposals and ensure that quoted offer meets all technical and commercial requirements for the application/opportunity and pricing meets AMETEK objectives.
  • Provide support on all standard quotes and projects and work with applications engineers at the factory on all non-standard equipment.
  • Liaise with factory and customers to ensure communications are clearly defined and understood. When required, provide project management support to customers after products are ordered.
  • Perform technical and commercial review of orders and work with customers/distributors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide sales support via phones, Microsoft Teams when required.
  • Provide weekly reports.
  • Perform other tasks that benefit the business unit as directed.

 Job Requirements:

B.S. Engineering, Science or equivalent.

Experience 2 - 3 years (5 years desired) in technical support, field service, application engineering or field related work.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Navision or related ERP systems, and Salesforce.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills required. Must have the ability to pursue short- and long-term projects without supervision. Ability to interface and work with production, engineering and service department to provide project management for customer orders. Ability to work effectively with customers, distributors, representatives, and area managers.
  • Knowledge of AMETEK products and applications.
  • Ability for limited travel both domestic and international.  A valid passport is required.
  • Knowledge of analytical methods (UV, IR, etc.), environmental regulations and area classifications with process knowledge including chemical/petrochemical production and related industries.
  • Possess a sincere passion for meeting customer requirements and serving support and training needs of representative and distributor organization contacts.
  • Have the ability to review complex bid packages.
