POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Electrical Engineer (NPD) position at Process Instruments is the technical leader of the Electrical Engineering discipline within the New Product Development group that designs, develops, and validates new products to serve many applications for customers of various industries, including green energy, semiconductor, and sulfur recovery. This role requires an engineer who is technically savvy, collaborative, and versatile to be a leading member of a team that delivers product solutions on time and on budget. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a senior technical member of a cross-functional new product development team, lead the design and development of electronics and related software platforms for the New Product Development group, provide technical guidance to other team members, and participate in trainings, customer visits, and other continuous learning and development activities
- Contribute to the maintenance and execution of the business’ New Product Development process, ensuring it is followed consistently for all programs by the Electrical Engineering discipline
- Participate in the origination of new product development programs by coordinating with Engineering leadership and Product Management on proposals, design specifications, and business-case evaluations
- Develop, monitor, and update applicable product development program schedules and budgets for the Electrical Engineering discipline, communicating progress, updates, and changes to the Manager, New Product Development
- Ensure delivery of complete documentation packages for all assigned projects, including PCB manufacturing documents, engineering change notices, and software release notes
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in product development projects that include the design of PCB circuits, PCB layouts, software, and interconnect cables and wiring harnesses
- Experience working within cross functional teams to deliver projects on time and on budget, prototyping, validation of new designs, and system software/electrical testing
- Working knowledge of project management principles and Agile methodologies to meaningfully contribute to New Product Development schedule development and project tracking
- Working knowledge of design for manufacturing and quality principles, including previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, ISO procedures (or similar), and change management processes

- Mitigating obsolescence and supply chain risk in new PCB designs to ensure consistent manufacturing and performance
