We are looking for an insturment repair technician to join our team.

 

Job Description: 

  • Primary responsibilities include in-house repair of analyzers in our Pittsburgh, PA facility.
  • Successful candidates will be required to interact with customers by telephone, generate quotations and Return to Manufacturer Authorizations (RMA), receive, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair the instrument. 
  • All work will be documented in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. It is anticipated that the in-house repair will encompass approximately 80% of the work package.
  • Candidate will also be required to participate in a field service role including complete support of QCM products, field repairs, and assisting all departments as assigned.
  • Assure complete customer satisfaction and department profitability. Provide customer training and other duties as required.
  • Job includes making travel arrangements for local and infrequent international field service visits.
  • Telephone support in the areas of quoting instrument retrofits complete with instructions, quote repair costs to customers and provide remote troubleshooting assistance.
  • Process spare parts orders and construct service test fixtures as required.

 Additional duties as required by business conditions and senior service management.

 

Job Requirements:

Minimum High School education or equivalent.  AS Degree in electronics, equivalent military training, or prior work experience with a solid understanding of electronics

• 3-5 years’ experience

Understanding of basic chemistry is a strong plus

• Demonstrated capability of troubleshooting analog, digital, and microprocessor electronics systems

• Must be familiar with the use of required test equipment including test rigs, calibration equipment, Digital Volt Meter (DVM), Oscilloscope, soldering iron and associated wiring/mechanical tools

• Capable of handling tools and material as heavy as 75 pounds

• Capable of performing job duties outdoors requiring exposure to weather conditions

• Must be available and capable of traveling by air, land and sea via commercial means

• Rarely, required to climb to heights of 250 feet with appropriate safety harness and conditions

• The job has restrictions regarding facial hair for safety reasons

• Due to AMETEK’s participation with third party health and safety organizations, all service colleagues are required to register with AMETEK’s partnering organizations to facilitate servicing our customers
