Job Title:  Welder

AMETEK Controls Southeast Inc. is a leading provider of thermal process solutions to plants around the world.

We are looking for a knowledgeable Welder who will be responsible for reviewing job specific requirements and welding procedures to efficiently weld carbon, stainless-steel, and other alloy metals, in thickness ranging from .030 and up.  Must be able to weld using GTAW process but will require GMAW and FCAW processes with higher level welders.

Responsibilities:​

• Able to read customer requirements and welding procedures as provided for each project.
• Can read and interpret supplied fabrication drawings, including welding symbols and details.
• Must be able to understand basic fitting to tack parts/assemblies.
• Efficient using GTAW welding process with GMAW and FCAW expanding welder capabilities.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. 6G position welding is required.
• Comfortable setting up and maintaining welding equipment.
• Operates equipment and handles material in a safe manner, including properly securing all workpieces and assemblies.
• Can use grinders, hand tools, levels, and weld gauges to make productive welds and visually check before passing along product to Quality Control.
• Capable of visual inspection, clean up, and weld repairs as required.
• Cleans or degreases welding joints or workpiece, repairs broken or cracked parts, and fills holes, as needed.

Requirements: 

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One year previous experience preferred
• Must be able to pass 2” sch 80 6G test
