The Production Cutting Specialist is responsible for accurately preparing pipe, tubing, trace, and related materials used in the fabrication of CSI products. This role interprets fabrication drawings, verifies material specifications, operates cutting equipment, and ensures all materials are prepared safely, accurately, and on schedule to support manufacturing operations.

The Production Cutting Specialist will:

  • Interpret spool drawings, fabrication drawings, travelers, and work orders to determine material preparation and cutting requirements.
  • Develop cut lists from fabrication drawings as needed to support production and fabrication activities.
  • Identify and verify pipe sizes, schedules, material grades, specifications, and dimensions before processing.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare pipe, tubing, and related materials according to drawings, work orders, and quality standards.
  • Safely operate cutting equipment, including plasma cutters, band saws, chop saws, oxy-fuel systems, and hand tools.
  • Maintain material traceability, heat tracking records, and accurate inventory consumption data using the paperless shop and ERP systems.
  • Inspect materials before and after cutting for accuracy, quality, damage, defects, or discrepancies and communicate issues as needed.
  • Stage and organize prepared materials to support production schedules, fabrication operations, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, reduce material waste through efficient cutting practices, and report repair needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; follow all safety, EHS, and PPE requirements; operate forklifts and overhead cranes when certified; and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of manufacturing, fabrication, metalworking, or industrial production experience.
  • Experience reading fabrication drawings, blueprints, spool drawings, travelers, or work orders.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Experience operating cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
