Director, Business Controller – Strategic Finance Leader in Manufacturing

Are you a hands-on finance leader with a passion for driving performance and partnering across the business? We’re seeking a Controller to lead financial operations our Controls Southeast Business Segement serving as a key business partner to the Business Manager and a strategic contributor to the broader organization.
This role blends strategic leadership, operational excellence, and financial stewardship — ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

What You’ll Do as the Director, Business Controller, CSI:

  • Lead the Finance Function: Oversee all aspects of finance and accounting, including general ledger, cost accounting, AP/AR, and fixed assets. Manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Own Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead the month-end close process and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Drive Forecasting & Budgeting: Coordinate annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Analyze trends in revenue, margins, expenses, and working capital to provide actionable insights.
  • Partner with Operations: Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to track KPIs, improve cost efficiency, and support new product development and value engineering initiatives.
  • Ensure Compliance & Controls: Maintain a strong internal control environment, ensure SOX compliance, and support internal and external audits.
  • Support Strategic Initiatives: Provide financial guidance on capital investments, M&A activity, and strategic planning. Prepare NPV and ROI analyses for business cases.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in financial systems, reporting, and operational performance.
  • Consolidate & Communicate: Assist in financial consolidation and reporting for the broader business unit. Present financial results and recommendations to senior leadership.

 

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required. CPA, MBA, or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Manufacturing and multi-site experience preferred, as well as experience in a decentrialized organization.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial modeling. Familiarity with ASC 606 and SOX 404.
  • Systems Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or Navision), HFM, and data analytics tools like Power BI.
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and present confidently to executive leadership.
  • Mindset: Self-starter with a strong work ethic, analytical mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $160,000
Salary Maximum:  $185,000
