Job Description: 

Job Summary:

Responsible for the setup, operation, and support of a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in the production of medical device components, including cases and trays, ensuring adherence to quality, documentation, and regulatory requirements. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and apply information from work instructions, routers/travelers, and process sheets.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment such as brake press, extruder, turret press, water jet, silkscreen, laser, and related machinery.
  • Support production operations by assisting with material movement as needed.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality output.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify conformance.
  • Inspect finished parts for cosmetic and dimensional defects.
  • Perform secondary operations such as deburring, polishing, cleaning, and preparation.
  • Label, identify, and track product throughout production.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation (travelers, inspection records, etc.).
  • Escalate issues to leadership to help maintain productivity.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area per 5S/6S standards.
  • Assist with prototype builds and process improvements.
  • Train other operators once proficient.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs.  The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. 

 

Education:

  • Minimum: High School or GED

Experience:

  • 1-3 years    Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.

 

KSA's:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot multiple machines.
  • Strong documentation and inspection skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment.

 

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a production environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, in some areas.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly

Salary Minimum:  40,000
Salary Maximum:  45,000
