Brake Press Operator
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Set up and operate press brake, editing of programs, tooling maintenance, assist in the training of operators. Produce good quality parts in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Obtain and apply information from Work Instruction File.
- Set up and program new Work Instruction File.
- Set up and operate press brake and computer by following machine setup sheets.
- Test and inspect equipment.
- Test and inspect product to blueprint specifications.
- Inspect product for compliance to requirements and sign-off for first piece approval.
- Utilizes and completes documentation as required.
- Understand and follow policy procedures.
- Prepare product for transfer to next work cell.
- Shut down and store computer and equipment.
- Document and record all work done in work cell.
- Train others in respective work cell to assure good quality parts are being produced in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure general maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
- Comply with ISO policies and procedures.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
- Operation of associated metal fabrication machinery: surface grinder, turret press, surface graining and edge deburring machines, assembly, clean, and pack.
- Assist supervisor as needed.
- Overtime on an as needed basis.
- Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Minimum 1-3 years experience in metal fabrication.
SKILLS:
Ability to read and understand blueprints. Work with minimal supervision. Team oriented.
