Job Description: 

The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Engineer is responsible for resolving manufacturing and assembly problems, developing new processes, and supporting existing processes and techniques for a wide range of products manufactured by AMETEK Haydon Kerk Pittman.

The ME Engineer is also utilized when meeting customer deliveries where the resolution of technical problems is a controlling factor. He/She is also involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of electrical and electromechanical products and systems.

The ME Engineer provides engineering support for manufacturing planning, new process development, and new product design. Also, they will assist on the shop floor with troubleshooting product and processing problems.

 

What will you do:

  • Read and interpret drawings.
  • Analyse the drawing specifications and develop the necessary tools, processes and parameter to support production operations.
  • Plan and execute product transfers from other interplant manufacturing sites to local production.
  • Develop and validate processes, tooling, and documentation for transferred products.
  • Drive process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, procurement) to ensure seamless process and transferred product
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any quality or low yield
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor technician / engineering operator and provide technical guidance.
  • Manage documentation, including BOM certification and technical drawings review for manufacturing readiness.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or technical field required and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in product transfer projects and process validation, preferably in motor/electro-mechanical component assembly processes and automation improvement
  • Experience line setup, equipment readiness and BOM setup in ERP system
  • Added advantages: programming, instrumentation, electric/motor testing experience     
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings. Proficient in GD&T (geometric dimension and tolerance).
  • Troubleshooting experience/ability.
  • Ability to use standard shop floor inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and indicator gauges. CAD drafting and Minitab skills.
  • Experience with standard mechanical and machining processes such as milling, turning and grinding.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and work in high pace environment.
  • Able to perform multitask and hands-on the assignment given.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
