Job Description: 

 

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role performs inspections, measurements, and tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods, and documents results in accordance with established quality procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: include the following:

  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and products.
  • Measure parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring machines.
  • Compare inspection results to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify, documents, and report nonconforming materials or products.
  • Initiate and support correct and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Accurately complete inspection records, logs, and quality documentation.
  • Communicate quality issues to productions, engineering, and quality leadership.
  • Support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) as needed.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process control.
  • Assemble and test products according to assembly and test procedures.
  • Program, solder, and calibrate electronic final assemblies as demand dictates.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned – especially in support of assembly for operations.

EDUCATION: 

  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Experience with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / AS9100 (as applicable).
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience with SPC or quality driven analysis.
  • Previous experience in high-mix/low volume manufacturing.

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 1-3 years previous manufacturing quality or quality inspection work experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

  •  Ability to read and interpret documents. 

 

Must possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, in EnglishHave the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, colleagues and members of the business community when required.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:   

  • Some basic computer skills. 

 

MATHMATICAL SKILLS: 

  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, measurements, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

  • Ability to define basic problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.   Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing some of the time).

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $40,000
