Job Description: 

SUMMARY:

 

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work with the Engineering team and Director of Engineering to assist the department to achieve the routine tasks following our Engineering processes.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify CAD drawings using Solidworks or AutoCAD tools.
  • Set up and conduct various tests to validate new design concepts and changes.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis efforts to resolve issues with product returns.
  • Data entry and new part setups using companies Oracle business system.
  • Help document various processes and procedures used in production to manufacture our products.
  • Help find alternative materials and components for obsolete and long lead time items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support AMETEK, Inc.’s Mission Statement and company goals.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Individuals must be able to present and discuss project plans, requirements, test results, etc. in a team-based work environment.
  • General knowledge and use of computer applications including Microsoft Word & Excel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit and occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $30,000
Salary Maximum:  $45,000
