Job Description: 

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role supports the preparation of financial statements, reports, and reconciliations, while upholding the integrity of the general ledger and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis
  • Analyze costs, revenues, and financial commitments to support forecasting and budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Utilize accounting software and Excel to manage and analyze financial data
  • May guide or review the work of junior staff

Requirements for Consideration

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2 - 4 years accounting experience
  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP standards and revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with account reconciliation and close processes (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $80,000
Salary Maximum:  $95,000
