We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our innovative Supply Chain team at TMC Vibration Control! In this role, you'll work closely with our Production, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to keep our procurement processes running smoothly and efficiently. As a Senior Buyer, you'll build and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, ensuring we hit our goals for on-time delivery, cost savings, inventory management, and supplier performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships to ensure a reliable supply of materials.
- Cost Management: Analyze market trends and supplier performance to achieve cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolve any issues, and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Quality Assurance: Work with the quality control team to ensure that all materials meet the required specifications and standards.
- ERP/MRP System Operation: Utilize ERP/MRP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics or SAP) to manage procurement processes, track inventory, and generate reports.
- Lean/Continuous Improvement: Implement and support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and overall efficiency.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present procurement reports, analyze data to identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate price, quality, delivery, and other terms with suppliers.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proactive with a strong sense of urgency and a bias for action.
- Creativity and strategic thinking.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM or CPM are a plus.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
- Highest level of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
