Position Description

AMETEK TMC is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and career minded individual to serve as our Production Supervisor for Second Shift at our Peabody, MA location.  This position will provide leadership, coaching and direction to the Manufacturing Department.  Develops and implements strategies and tactics for both long and short-term goals to achieve the highest standards for safety, quality, order fulfillment, and financial metrics.  Responsibilities include all aspects of manufacturing within the Second Shift for Electro-Mechanical / Active Products, Fabrication and Weld, Bonding, and Assembly Departments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving/implementing operational process improvements to support business goals with the emphasis on safety, quality, on time delivery, inventory, and productivity.  
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to all employees.  
  • Develop employees across multiple segments including continuous improvement, lean, safety and adherence to processes and procedures.  
  • Promotes and enforces safety protocols, actively identifying and addressing risks
  • Provides input on labor, space, materials, and equipment needs and supports cost analysis and justification as required.
  • Experienced in Lean, Six Sigma and various continuous improvement initiatives with an emphasis on providing a high value of return. 
  • Responsible for driving engagement of the Electro-Mechanical Assembly team including professional development and team building. 
  • Establishes and maintains a high level of business and personal ethics following company standard operating procedures and ensures everyone operates in a similar manner.
  • Contribute to operational metric updates during Plant SQDIP meetings and lead shift-level reviews
  • Maintain professional and effective communication to all levels, stimulating initiatives, innovations, and motivation for continuous improvements.
  • Communicate with Plant Manager on setting goals, objectives, and reporting of area metrics to track progress and improvement.
  • Proactively monitors production schedules, resolves issues, and escalates challenges to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensures smooth handoffs between first and second shifts, maintaining clear communication and continuity of operations.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role, with a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, operations, and production processes.
  • Demonstrated positive results with Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / continuous improvement skills.
  • Superior leadership skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills and demonstrated ability to interface at all levels of the company.  
  • Demonstrated success in developing high performing teams. 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, make an immediate impact, and manage by fact. 
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, welding processes, and related manufacturing operations is highly desirable.

Salary Minimum:  $90,000
Salary Maximum:  $125,000
